I'm not dead!
I mean this is my thesis, after all. I would like to complete my degree just so people - i dunno, take me slightly more seriously? i think it's mostly fields like biz and law that actually has issues with that lol
New demo coming soon. I've mostly been working on bugfixes - in fact I'm just trying to fix two big ones, especially the performance issues you see in the Vertical Slice demo after about wave 3. It's my first time really building a project in a game engine and seriously coding so it's a learning process with a lot to fix.
The big new inclusion in the next demo is level select, with a singular chapter that's also a prequel to the game. Of course that's not all I've been working on, there's some infrastructure stuff that makes it a lot easier for me to build new enemies, abilities, encounters, levels.
In other news, I don't think I'll have the time to build all the 3D assets I want within the project timeframe (around April) so I'll be (un)pivoting to staying on 2D and making my own pixel art (because quite frankly I think I've already run out of Oryx Design Lab robots lol)
If I go back to 3D it'll be a post-diploma patch 1.5 or something.
